'Think Twice, Order Right' Campaign Toolkit

Green background with colour tablets scattered. Text reads: Think Twice, Order Right.

NHS Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin has launched a new campaign — ‘Think Twice, Order Right’ — to help reduce the estimated £2.6 million worth of medicines wasted unnecessarily across the area every year. Almost 40% of this waste could be avoided – and everyone can play a part in changing that.

The campaign’s goal is to help our health and care system reduce medicine waste, support safe patient care, and safeguard NHS resources by asking people to;

  • Check the amount of medicines they have at home before requesting more.
  • Only request the medicines they need.
  • Check their pharmacy bag before leaving the pharmacy. Returning unwanted medicines before leaving the pharmacy.

Ordering unnecessary medicines can contribute to shortages, create risks at home, and harm the environment.
