Need help with your mental health?

If you’re feeling low or struggling to cope, you can now get free, confidential support by text.

Simply text ‘STW’ to 85258 to start a conversation with a trained mental health professional. They can help with anything you’re facing, including anxiety, stress, loneliness, depression, self-harm, suicidal thoughts, or other mental health challenges and will work with you to help you feel calmer and safer.

The text service is designed to provide urgent, anonymous support for people who need mental health assistance. It ensures patients can access help directly, day or night, without having to wait to speak to someone face-to-face or on the telephone.

The service is available 24/7, and messages won’t appear on your phone bill. It’s delivered by Shout, a national text messaging service powered by Mental Health Innovations, and complements other local NHS mental health support.

Who can use it?
Anyone of any age living in Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin.

How does it work?

  • Text ‘STW’ to 85258
  • You’ll receive automated messages and then be connected to a mental health professional
  • Conversations are private, empathetic, and focused on helping you cope and find next steps
  • You may be signposted to other local services for longer-term support

If someone’s life is at risk, call 999 immediately.
