Did you know that you can unlock your own smartcard?

It can be frustrating to forget your smartcard pin number which can prevent you from getting on with your day… resulting in a visit to a smartcard sponsor to unlock your card or a call to IT to get a replacement card.

You can register your details on the national SmartCard software to ensure that you can unlock your own card in future – saving you time and ensuring that you can quickly get on with your work.

You can register for SmartCard self-service here.

Please note – you will need to be on N3/HSCN and cannot use Google Chrome.

Full details on how to register and use this service are in the attached guide.

If you need any support with SmartCard services you should continue to use our online SmartForm, which can be accessed here

You can also track the progress of your calls using our IT Self Service Portal available here.

IT Self Service portal – Your first port of call for IT support requests

The portal is a one stop shop for all IT related enquiries and requests. You can use the portal to log and update calls, track progress of existing calls, view service updates, complete forms, request training and access help sheets and quick guides.

Calling and emailing the service desk can cause delays to resolution, often unnecessarily when many questions could be quickly addressed using the portal.

The portal can be accessed here.  The portal will work best when you are using Google Chrome or Internet Explorer 11.

Your username is your NHS.net email address. If you do not know your password, please email MLCSU.Servicedesk@nhs.net with the subject line ‘Sostenuto self service portal access’ and a password will be sent to you, or click here to generate this ready-to-send email. You can then change your password using the ‘Edit profile’ option on the portal.

You will need to set your password when you first use the system. To do this please select the ‘Forgotten your login details?’ option. This will allow you to set a password for the system via a link that is emailed to you from the service desk.

We have a handy training guide and a training video here

If you have any problems accessing the system, please call the service desk on 0300 555 0212 or email us at MLCSU.Servicedesk@nhs.net
