NHS and local authority partners work together to improve Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) support for children and young people, based on feedback from parent carers.
As part of our ongoing commitment to shape local care, we regularly ask parents and carers to fill out short surveys and share their views and experiences. Their feedback is crucial for improving our support and services. We want to know what’s working well and where we need to make changes to better help our community.
The most recent survey, from Shropshire Council and NHS partners inviting parent carers to complete a survey to provide feedback on the Special Educational Needs and Disability and Alternative Provision (SEND and AP) support in the area, closed on 23 April and received 91 responses.
It asked about the following:
- What support people had received
- People's understanding of the support available
- Whether people received the support they needed and did it help
- Speech, language and communication support
- Education, Health and Care Needs Assessments
- Education, Health and Care Plans
