Bishop’s Castle Medical Practice Blood Testing

Due to the phlebotomist leaving Bishop’s Castle Medical Practice, blood tests will temporarily stop at the practice as of Wednesday 22 May 2024.

NHS Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin and Bishop’s Castle Medical Practice are currently in negotiations to try to find a solution, so that the needs of patients continue to be met. We are also exploring other options to try to ensure that this service is available locally in future. We are sorry for any impact that this change in provision of services will have on patients.

Whilst options are being explored, patients who require a blood test will need to attend the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital, or a Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC) at Telford or Whitchurch. Blood tests are only available by appointment, there is no walk-in service.
