COVID-19
The NHS will contact eligible patients in 2025, however an invite is not solely required to come forward and book your COVID-19 vaccine this Autumn/Winter 2025/26.
Patients can now book COVID-19 Vaccine appointments for clinics taking place 1st October 2025 onwards.
Covid vaccinations are available from local NHS services, such as a GP surgery or pharmacy. There will be different ways to get the vaccine:
- Book or manage a COVID-19 vaccination appointment
- Find a Walk-in COVID-19 clinic
- Book on the NHS app
- Call 119 free of charge to book over the phone
- Residents who live in a care home for older adults will be offered the vaccination in their care home
- Patients identified by their GP as housebound and who have a weakened immune system will receive a call from their GP or alternative NHS service to arrange a home visit
COVID-19 vaccines are safe and effective and have been proven to reduce hospitalisations and severe illness. They give you the best protection against COVID-19.
For some, particularly older people and those with a weakened immune system, COVID-19 can still be very dangerous and even life-threatening. COVID-19 vaccines offered by the NHS provide protection against the virus and help reduce the risk of serious illness. The vaccine has saved countless lives, prevented thousands from needing to go to hospital and helped us to live with the virus without fear or restrictions.
Protection against COVID-19 (either from catching the virus or from a previous vaccination) can fade over time and the virus can change so if you are at higher risk of severe illness it is important that you top up your protection.
