Understanding Your Cancer Journey Events 

We know that everyone who receives a cancer diagnosis and treatment has a unique experience individual to them so, in collaboration with local cancer services and organisations, we hosted two listening events with the aim of enhancing cancer care in the county.

The events, jointly funded by us, Lingen Davies and The West Midlands Cancer Alliance, invited anybody who had received a cancer diagnosis or treatment in the county over the last three years, as well as those who have supported somebody through their cancer journey and professionals, to come along to share their experience.

The first event took place at Telford Football Club on 20 November 2024 and the second at Shrewsbury Town Football Club on 20 March, with over 150 people attending in total. 

We are now in the process of bringing together all of the feedback captured.

The information gathered at these events is helping to shape future support services and grant making.

A follow-up event is planned for later this summer to discuss the findings and offer more opportunities for people to input into the design and development of cancer care.
