Liane Powell, Maternity & Neonatal Independent Senior Advocate (MNISA)Supporting you after a distressing experience (an adverse outcome) during your maternity and/or neonatal care.

The Maternity and Neonatal Independent Senior Advocate (MNISA) service is here to support women, birthing people, and families who have experienced a distressing or adverse outcome during their maternity or neonatal care. Our aim is to ensure your voice is heard, respected, and understood as you navigate this difficult time.

We’re pleased to share that NHS Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin (STW) has extended the local MNISA service until 30 September 2026. This means the service can continue to accept new referrals until 31 March 2026, allowing enough time to offer full support through to closure or transition.

We are truly sorry that you have had a difficult experience. We hope the information on this page helps you find the understanding, guidance, and support you need.
