Staying connected and getting involved in your community

Staying connected is good for your health

Keeping in touch with other people can boost wellbeing, build confidence and help reduce loneliness. Being part of your community, whether through volunteering, learning something new, joining a local group or simply spending time with others, can support both physical and mental wellbeing and help you stay independent for longer.

You could try:

  • Community groups
  • Coffee mornings
  • Lunch clubs
  • Social and activity groups
  • Volunteering opportunities
  • Learning new skills
