Refreshed Clinical Strategy for Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin

NHS Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin has published its draft refreshed Clinical Strategy and we have shared this for your views.

Our area faces some real challenges; from providing services across a large rural geography, to an ageing population and ongoing health inequalities between different communities. At the same time, demand for services is rising, so we need to think differently about how care is delivered in the future.

The Clinical Strategy sets out how we plan to respond to these challenges. It focuses on prevention, stronger community‑based support through a neighbourhood approach, tackling inequalities and making better use of digital tools across five life stages:

  • Start Well 0-5 years
  • Grow Well 6-18 years
  • Live Well 19-64 years
  • Age Well 65+ years
  • End Well All ages

Read the strategy document here.

The priorities in the strategy closely match the Government’s 10 Year Plan for the NHS in England. Clinical leadership, good use of data and evidence, and working together across services are central to this approach.

Your feedback is important. As people who use local services and understand your communities, your views will help us make sure the strategy reflects what matters most to our residents.

The clinical strategy engagement period closed on Sunday 22 February 2026 and feedback is now being collated. This page will be kept up to date as this work progresses.

Thank you for helping us shape the future of health and care in Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin.
