Zac’s Story
When my son Zac, aged 7, developed a bad cough and started feeling unwell, I wasn’t sure what to do. His symptoms seemed to be getting worse and I was worried he might have RSV (respiratory syncytial virus), a common respiratory virus.
I wanted to make sure Zac got the right care, but I didn’t know whether he needed to see a GP or whether I could look after him at home. So, I decided to use NHS 111 online.
The website took me through some simple questions about Zac’s symptoms and helped me understand what to do next. I was then signposted to the right care for him.
It was reassuring to know that I could get NHS advice quickly and make the right decision for Zac without having to work out which service we needed on my own.
